My husband and I have been doing more and more things together. It’s been the best time of my life. After all he’s my best friend. We been trying new things and he never was one to think man I need to eat right I need to start exercising. He is by the way 6ft tall and like 157 lbs. at age 62. He is where a lot of guys that workout or diet would love to be but its just in his family genes.

As most of you know I’m into health, nutrition, the best diets out there. Since my husband has retired I’ve started sharing more videos with him, and started taking him to more meetings with me. Showed him how I shop when I go to the store reading all labels not always fun, gets overwhelming at times but guys there is so many products out there that have hidden sugars in them. I know other people say this well I will too. READ THE LABELS. Kip started realizing man I didn’t know how much sugar I was putting into my body. I have done many classes getting Certificates for studying nutrition what is the best diet? I have done probably almost all of them. True story I started out being a Vegan thinking this is what I want talk about one of the hardest times. I live in a town of a little over a thousand one grocery store by all means I’m not blaming them but they don’t have everything for vegans..lol..I loved some of the recipes my husband loved some of the recipes problem was hour later he was starving. We can’t have that you go backwards then. You just eat everything insight and you don’t end up with the body you desire. Even if someone looks amazing how healthy are they? Next I became a vegetarian which was not bad I could still go back to that. I like food I’m 4’11 and as you age where does the fat go? You guessed it in the middle, in the back? Everywhere a lady does not want it to right?? It took me a year maybe more to admit I finally am happy going keto/carnivore don’t hate. I didn’t think I’d ever be that person that ate like that. For 10 years I believed eat carbs, stay away from fat and all of that. I started trying it out for awhile it was hard. Everything takes time you can’t expect to be 10-20 lbs down overnight. I once got told patience is a virtue.

As we age my husband and I think more and more we want to go places and feel good doing it. There’s where the Ferrari comes in. You wouldn’t want to put bad gas in your Ferrari right? You wouldn’t want to drive it down a street with all holes in it right? Well what do you put in your body?? Do you treat it like a Ferrari? Just because I’m Keto don’t mean I eat bad I eat meat, and I eat broccoli, cauliflower, etc.. Just because you’re suppose to eat fats don’t mean bad fats. I feel stronger and better then I have for along time. I love not being hungry. Yes I have days I can’t get enough that’s where the macadamia nuts come in. But I only eat a handful that is enough. So many wrong ways to do Keto. But so many right ways too!

My husband and I have started a new journey doing new things when he feels good I feel good. My husband has saw me try a lot of different things try it and quit. But this time hes getting better sleep, feeling stronger, getting more muscle. He is my partner in our new lifestyle. Going out of town together to a Convention we learned together helping each other out if the other had questions. What a great feeling being together in this.

Today most of you know I’m a workout addict not as bad as I use to be. But my husband says I want to workout with you. WHAT? He never says that I was so excited I couldn’t get my tennis shoes on fast enough. Unfortunately I didn’t know what workout to do with him since I’ve done it for so long you don’t just throw that at someone. He ended up walking away he’s not into the dance cardio..lol…So I was a little bummed thought gosh wish he would of tried a little longer. Wait for it I thought I heard something I ran into the laundry room there he was on the treadmill. I quickly snapped a picture don’t judge as a health coach when I see someone trying I jump up and down..He was in his work clothes that don’t matter thing is guys he is trying. He says I did push ups to and situps. WHAT? What happy day. Hopefully he’ll keep it up just get moving you don’t have to go to the gym you can do it right at home. Or go for a walk. It’s up to YOU!

As far as I go I did Dirty 30 & Abs today. One day you might see the both of us on a workout video..:)


SET YOUR OWN GOALS

There are some days I feel like do I really need to workout? The answer is YES! Because as we age I’m not saying you always have to do a hard workout. You can even just walk a couple miles just as long as you keep on moving. You got to keep moving those joints so they don’t get still & sore.

How Young Do You feel?

What’s The Best Diet?

There are so many different diets out there its no wonder people are confused. But if you do your research what works for you might be vegan, vegetarian, mediterranean, atkins, paleo, or keto.

I think I’ve done them all.. lol Just because I hear oh she had really good luck with this one or oh he had really good luck with this one.

I’m at the age where I don’t want to be hungry, I don’t want to be miserable, I don’t want to weigh my food. I had a really hard time with Keto when I first started. Another reason I’m sticking with keto gives me better energy and less inflamation. Plus I really enjoy most of the food. At age 56 it works for me..:) I really enjoyed vegetarian but I always felt empty and its harder to walk in somewhere and order the right things. Keto is pretty easy and if you are thinking about doing this my advice to you is take it slow and ease into it. Don’t get discouraged I did at first I’ve been working on this for a year now. I have finally got where I have no sugar cravings, not as hungry between meals. I have been liking this life style. Do what is best for you I always say. FIRECRACKER JUMPS

When I got up today I said I was not going to run just workout. Well I ended up running better than I have for awhile..:) I decided to take the gel before working out. I truly believe that gives you strength through the day. I also like walking/running on the Nordictrack to get my body warmed up for workouts. When nothing hurts and you can keep going why not go longer right?

I was pretty warm but decide I wanted to have my Extreme Shake first. It has some good protein in it. I knew my workout would be a little harder since I’m on month 2 already.. I’ve also enjoyed being in the fasting group some of them fast for days which I’ve read from Dr. Fung is alright depending on how much weight you want to lose or what you are doing. I usually do a 16-18 hour not much more that that. One day I’d like to go a little longer for like a week do maybe a 48 hour, then 72 hour. Easier to talk about than doing it..lol.. His book is so interesting to me I’m into all the different ways of foods, calories, carbs do to the body kind of stuff. Why? I don’t know it is just so interesting to me. Dr. Fungs book is The Obesity Code. I love trying different things see what it does to the body, energy, health & so on. Eating meat & minimal vegetables has probably been about my favorite one so far after figuring things out. I still like my salads, a few veggies, & I did like deserts. Even though I was eating desserts that hardly had any carbs, no sugar I felt that this is not working right. So I will stop eating any kind of desert for 2 weeks to see if any difference happens. Trying things is my thing I like testing things myself before I suggest anything to anyone else. Cutting out sugar, pastas, breads is the first thing to do. Eating less don’t work because you end up eating more in the end. So if you can fuel your body at the right times you won’t always be hungry. It’s a mind game. You train your body & mind it is strong. I don’t like to say I’m on any diet because that can be a huge disaster thinking I’m on a diet oh my gosh..lol..NO it’s not a diet it’s a lifestyle that I want to be in. If you like what you’re eating then don’t change if you feel good and you have no problems. But I have noticed as I age I need more, I’ve done the Vegan thing,& I’ve done the Vegetarian thing. It didn’t fulfill me or my husband. I like having little inflammation, I like having a lot of energy. But thats me…Do what feels best to you!


Stress Relievers We All Need Them

What do you do to help with your stress? Well they’re several different things a person can do. I like to workout lately I’ve been walk/running to warm up before a workout. I’ve really enjoyed that. WHAT? Who enjoys running and working out? I do I know some don’t or most don’t but I do it’s my addiction. I don’t think its a bad one but sometimes I annoy my husband with it because my question always is how long do I have? I can get a quick run or workout in. It relieves so much stress for me. Do you like to cook? I love to cook knowing what’s going into our bodies is so important to me..:) As we age I know I need good foods, to stay strong and keep the energy level up. Winning the Mental Battle

When you prepare for a run or just to even get in better shape do you run for as long as you can to start? Or do you run a little each day?

Well I’m just seeing how far and how long I can run without over tiring myself to go workout for 30 minutes after. I love staying in shape. When I run instead of anything hurting first thing comes to mind is that’s all the farther you got? lol I feel stronger everyday probably because I take the best products I can. As we age things don’t work as great as they use to. But who’s to say I don’t want to still feel as great as I can. I been taking this gel that seems to make me feel stronger all the time. Not only stronger but one of the things I really noticed how deep my sleep is how great that is. Thats a big plus right there. I also noticed how much faster I recover from running & working out! Has helped with muscle growth and staying strong.

Running for the last couple of weeks starting a slower pace, and going a little further each time. Started out at 2.1 and gradually have got back up to 3. 1 miles. Which I want to keep going longer distance but we’ll see. Working out is just more my style. I’ve been enjoying running then work out to Jericho in morning meltdown 100. Her cardio is pretty intense..:)

Workout today after running 3.1 miles was Downbeat strength it wasn’t that bad. Working all the parts of the body. I went with 8’s & 10’s today. Doing squats I don’t like real heavy.

After running & workout decided to put some good fats in my body to recover. So it was bacon & waffles..YUM! So easy to make too. 2 eggs, 2-4 tbsp almond flour, 2 oz cream cheese, 1 tbsp. of coconut oil, 1/2 tsp of baking powder.

So I’m not the normal 56 year old when I get up I prepare what I’m going to do right away put on workout clothes and have a plan. Almost always will workout and now I’ve started to run, walk on treadmill again. Not sure how long I will run I go through spells of loving it but not liking it. But it’s all good as long as you get up and move you’re doing good right?
